RESUMEN: Una de las principales dificultades en la modelación del comportamiento mecánico de pavimentos flexibles en servicio, es la representación de la resistencia y la rigidez de las capas que lo componen. Con el ánimo de lograr análisis apegados al fenómeno físico complejo representativo del comportamiento real de pavimentos (problema multi-variado, no lineal, discontinuo, heterogéneo), en este trabajo se abordan métodos cognitivos, y en particular las redes neuronales artificiales para estimar módulos de capa a partir de datos de pruebas no destructivas de deflexión. Como resultado, se obtiene una modelación confiable en términos de precisión, con suficiente flexibilidad para realizar análisis de sensibilidad para condiciones particulares, y eficiencia demostrada mediante bajo costo computacional.
