RESUMEN: La investigación de los autores requería pruebas de carga en cimientos bifuncionales, las ejecutadas en el país son muy pocas y la literatura no ofrecen todos los datos y fueron realizadas en suelos y ambientes diferentes a las de Cuba, por lo que se preparó un equipo de laboratorio para lograr los resultados necesarios. Hay pocas referencias de pruebas y en las mismas no se muestran detalles de equipos ni procedimientos de ensayo, siendo necesario establecerlos siguiendo criterios propios. Los resultados de las pruebas y su correlación con la modelación por el MEF permitieron comprobar criterios sobre la forma de trabajo de estos cimientos, así como en otros casos llegar a conclusiones que difieren de los establecidos.
